After enjoying a buffet breakfast, drive to Old Delhi, the capital of the Mughal Dynasty between the 16th and 19th centuries. Start the tour with a visit to Jama Masjid – the largest mosque in India. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan began construction in 1650 AD and completed in 1656 AD.
From here, board cycle rickshaws for a tour of Chandni Chowk (Silver Street) and a glimpse into an old-world lifestyle slowly fading from Delhi. The group will enjoy shopping for spices, nuts, and herbs at Khari Baoli, Asia’s largest wholesale spice market operating since the 17th century.

Nov 08, 2024 (Friday) Varanasi
Begin the morning with a boat ride along the Ganges to view the ghats and former palaces – a quintessential Varanasi experience. The best time to make the trip is the early morning when the light and color of pilgrims bathing and performing puja unfolds before you. An hour-long trip south from Dasaswamedh Ghat to Harishchandra Ghat and back is popular but be prepared to see a burning corpse at Harishchandra.
After the boat ride, a professional yoga teacher will join the group at the bank of the River Ganga for a guided session. A buffet breakfast will be waiting for you upon returning to the hotel.
Proceed to a city tour, starting with the Kashi Vishwanath Temple (Non-Hindus can enter the Temple premises but will not be allowed to enter the inner sanctum of the temple), the most sacred of the shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, the patron deity of Varanasi, originally constructed in 1776 AD.
The next stop is the Durga Temple, another important shrine dedicated to the Goddess Durga. It was built in the 18th century, in the Nagara style of architecture, with five Shikharas (spires) which commence from the bottom and converge at the top.
Continue to Tulsi Manas Mandir, built in 1964, devoted to Lord Rama and believed to have been built on the site where the saint-poet Tulsi Das resided and wrote the epic Ram Charit Manas. The text is engraved on the walls of the temple.
Next, visit the Bharat Mata Mandir, a unique temple dedicated to Mother India. It houses a large relief map of India, carved out of marble during construction in 1936. Nearby, drive past the Benaras Hindu University, the largest residential university in Asia covering an area of approximately 2,000 acres.
After winding down from the tour, enjoy lunch at Shree Shivay Thali. Far from ordinary, the restaurant reflects Indian food culture and provides an experience of traditional dining in India. At Shree Shivay, the food is prepared with no onion or garlic. Kansa metal is used, bearing the antibacterial element which is considered to be a healthy metal to cook with and consume food. More than 20 dishes are provided in the Thali, including welcome drinks, farsaan (snacks), the main course, and dessert. Post lunch return to the hotel.
Afternoon lecture and a brief session with Indian Astrologer Dr. Chandra Mauli. Astrology is a range of divinatory practices, recognized as pseudoscientific since the 18th century, that claim to discern information about the correlation between human affairs and terrestrial events by studying the apparent positions of celestial objects from the time of birth to the current day.
Chandra Mauli Upadhyay is an Indian astrologer born in the year 1955 in the holy Varanasi city of Uttar Pradesh, India. Upadhyay is the Head of the Department of Astrology Center at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He has a Ph.D. in astrology from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and teaches Jyotish (astrology) in SVDV, BHU as a Professor. Shri Upadhyay has been teaching astrology since 1989. He started learning astrology in childhood from his father the astrologer Pandit Prof. Rajmohan Upadhyay, former dean of Jyotish Department, Banaras Hindu University, and Chief Editor of Vishwa Panchangam. Chandra Mauli Upadhyay has been honored by Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir Trust for extraordinary contributions in the field of astrology and by many other societies and organizations like Ganga Seva Nidhi, Rotary Club, etc. for contributions in the field of astrology and education. After a buffet breakfast, embark on a visit to the iconic Taj Mahal. Mughal emperor Shahjahan built this architectural wonder to enshrine the mortal remains of his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Fashioned from white marble with semi-precious pietra dura stone inlay work, it was described by Nobel Prize-winning poet Rabindranath Tagore as “a teardrop on the face of eternity.”
Continue the tour with Agra Fort, the seat and the stronghold of the Mughal Empire under successive generations. Encircled by a moat, this dramatic city within a city was the palace of emperors Akbar, Shah Jehan, and Aurangzeb – each of whom made significant contributions to the Persian (Islamic) and local Hindu architecture styles.
Proceed to the nearby Marble Factory for a live demonstration of inlay art, which was performed at the Taj Mahal and other Mughal Monuments in 1600. You can handle the tools and learn about the entire process of fixing precious and semi-precious gemstones into marble.
Lunch will be served at the hotel.
In the evening, proceed to ITC Mughal to enjoy a mouthwatering dinner at Peshwari, a specialty restaurant serving cuisine from the North West Frontier Region. The food is cooked in clay ovens, or tandoor, in the traditional style of marinating meat before cooking, rather than adding sauce or gravy afterward. The celebrated head chef will meet and talk with us about the cuisine and how it is different from Lucknowi or Hyderabadi dishes.

Most fascinating, perhaps, is the Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors) where a single lamplight is reflected in the many mirrors, lighting up the room.
On the way back, visit the Anokhi Museum of Hand Block Printing for a detailed insight into ancient art methods. Located at the Amer Foothills, the museum is dedicated to block/hand printing, a dying art form popular in Rajasthan and nearby areas like Bagru and Sanganer.
Take a break for lunch at The Raj Palace (Heritage Hotel), including a Royal Thali lunch served on gold and silver plates. In former times, dishes were created by Raj Hakim, the royal family’s doctor, and cooked by Khaansama chefs trained to cook for the royal family.
After enjoying the meal, take a heritage walk through the delightful Old City and local bazaar. In this colorful collection of markets, one can buy anything from jewelry and enamel work to hand-printed fabrics and stone sculptures. There will be some free time to explore on your own before continuing to Dera Amer, a private farm situated behind the hills of the famous Amer Fort on the outskirts of Jaipur for Bush dinner.
Enjoy cocktails during happy hour at the Rajwada Library, the perfect setting for an aperitif or an after-dinner beverage. Sip on fine wine, a classic cocktail, or a single malt.
